"I wanted to work for Eau Claire because of the size of the city and department. I was a community service officer (CSO) for Appleton PD before and both are similar in number of officers and population.
Eau Claire is big and small enough to find things to do, but not feel overcrowded. I also knew with the size of the department, there would be opportunities to join many specialties. With that being said, that is why I like working for ECPD, all the specialties. I was a part of the Tactical Response Team (TRT) for a couple of years. I'm part of the armorer’s team, a TASER instructor, and a police training officer (PTO). I also like the fact that I know every officer's name and face."
Samuel Warren
Community Service Officer (CSO)
"Eau Claire has a sense of closeness and community that is hard to find in a lot of cities this size. That sense of welcoming is found in the department too. I wanted to work in a city that cares about its residents.

The connections I formed with coworkers here are really special, and our supervisors are always finding ways to keep us involved and engaged with the community. "
Tiffany Siverling
Dispatcher
"I chose this department because of the many opportunities that are available, such as the various teams (Peer Support for example), and room for advancement and growth (being a trainer/supervisor/opportunities for training).

I have worked for the department for over 10 years now, during that time I have faced many challenges, both personal and work-related. During those times this department stood by me, reminded me that I wasn't alone, and helped me through those tough times. I truly don't think I'd be where I'm at today if it wasn't for the people I am privileged to work alongside every day."
Kyle Jentzsch
Officer - 20 years
"I first was introduced to Eau Claire as a UWEC student and then started with the ECPD as a community service officer (CSO) in college. This gave me the flavor of the city and the department and I knew I wanted to apply full time from that. I've been here ever since. "

What do you love about working with ECPD?

"The people that I work with and the freedom that this department gives its officers to shape their career path and interests."
Jessica Achterberg

"Growing up in Eau Claire, I always had a lot of respect for our police department. The mutual respect between officers and dispatchers makes the job enjoyable. Being able to be a part of the different specialties is a great opportunity for us to build those relationships even more, and not just be a voice on the radio."
Ben Klapperich
Dispatcher
"Working for the Comm Center is fulfilling for me on many different levels. The role allows me to contribute directly to public safety in our community, which gives me a sense of purpose and satisfaction. Every day presents new challenges and opportunities to make a difference, whether it's coordinating responses to emergencies, providing critical information to officers in the field, or assisting callers in distress. The camaraderie and teamwork among my colleagues create a supportive environment where we collaborate seamlessly to handle any situation that arises. Being part of such a vital and respected organization is not just a job but a calling, where I am honored to serve the residents of Eau Claire County."
